Over the past year we have identified a need to update the lighting in and around the church. With the church itself now open to external bookings for concerts, recitals, readings, and other events, the feedback we have received from hirers has been that the task lighting is not adequate for performers. The other area in need of attention is the exterior lighting at the front of the church. We currently have no external illumination at all, which minimises our visual profile at street level.
Our lighting consultant has devised an affordable lighting scheme to provide better task lighting and improved ambient lighting internally, plus a scheme to highlight the architecture of the front of the building.
The congregational consultation is open until Sunday 10th August 2025, and the Canon 35 application to the Diocesan Buildings Committee will be submitted shortly afterwards.
