Young Church (school age) meets in church for the start of the service during term-term, leaving during the Gloria (or other indicated part of the liturgy) for their own gathering in the church centre, returning in time to receive a blessing or communion with the rest of the congregation. Young Church follows the Roots Resources pattern throughout the year, which offers the children an opportunity to follow the lectionary and do activities and reflection based on the readings. Four times a year there is a Young Church Service, when Young Church help lead the worship.
Young Church also has an exciting programme of events at key times throughout the year, including the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Party, an Easter Crafting Party, and the Christmas Party, amongst others.
Crèche - Sundays at 10am
The crèche is available every Sunday of the year for children under school age. Based in the Centre, with lots of toys, there is plenty of fun for the young children while the service is on. If you would like to know more about the crèche please contact Katherine Evensen, our Children & Young Church Coordinator.
Children's Choir
Our Children's Choir began in the second half of 2023 and is directed by our Assistant Organist, Kat Whigham. The Children's Choir is open to anyone of school age, and meets at 11:45am after church on Sundays during term-time. The Children's Choir sings at special Sunday services throughout the year, as well as just singing for the fun of making music. If you think your child would enjoy learning to sing in a church setting, please contact Katfor further details.
If you would like to know more about any of the activities for families, please contact Katherine Evensen, our Children & Young Church Coordinator.
