Work began on removing the choir stalls and framing on Monday 4th November 2024. The stalls and associated wood from the framework were collected by Move On Wood, to be turned into character pieces and to be used in their community projects.
On Monday 11th November the old heating pipes which ran underneath the stalls were removed. The engineers commented that whatever heat had been given out must have been through the sheer conductivity of the iron pipes themselves, as they were bone dry and didn't look like they had transported any water in years!
The concrete flooring was poured on Wednesday 13th November. The next stage was the tiling, which is inspired by the original colours in the chancel yet distinct in line with restoration principles.
The new furniture was delivered by Treske on Wednesday 27 November, and was unveiled to the choir and donors at a special event on Thursday 28 November.
